its 99 and it has its original tape player which the controls with the steering wheel work. it says it compatible with a cd changer on the front of it

Its hard to pick up the original CD player but you can get one in Halfords for maybe €80 - 100 and then get the adapters for the back of it so it makes it compatible with the remote controls on the steering wheel.

    Get a CD6000
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-CD-6000-CD-Radio-Code-Transit-Focus-Mondeo-/250770221049?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item3a6311e7f9

which is a straight swap .. Wheel controls will work as well... If you are really lucky you might find the 6 disc changer but I doubt it... Theres a nice Connects2 audio in mod you can get for about 35 quid sterling .. I had my MP3 connected to it....!

Personally if you do not want to mess with leads/fascia etc..

just keep an eye out for a CD6000 (or CD6006). Exact same radio as you have but with a CD player instead of tape deck.

Try Traynors up north who will deliver down south. Otherwise ebay should have plenty.

Just make sure its from Fords of the year of your car.
