Win Loss is a broken system

Through out all the call of duty games I have come across many many MANY games where I start off and the game immediately ends with a loss or all 3 flags in domination have been capped at its something like 179-38 or in demolition there is 2 bombs planted and I have to defuse and my team have already lost one round, or even Im spectating someone in S&D and its 3 rounds won to the enemy team and they win, now if i leave I get a loss put onto my account, if I stick in the game I get a loss on my account, if I some how pull a win out of my ass, I dont get a win, I looked into it, you need to play more than 50% of the match (apparently) for a win to be added to your account.

So seriously im just gonna keep getting losses because the game decides that I have to play a loosing game? bullsh*t, my win loss is something sh*tty in BO with like .58 where as my KD is like 1.60 right now, im not a bad player, just a victim in a broken system.

    Play in a party ;)

Besides TDM or Ground War it can very difficult to maintain a decent win/loss ratio if playing on your own.

Mine is currently 2.31. It was 1.93ish a couple of weeks back(2.10) after some major rage quitting while you guessed it.. playing on my own for a bit due to being put into ridiculous situations and trying to carry my team near every game :pac:

unless you're awesome like me, my back was sore after the first few presteges... carrying noobs all day.

The entire stats system isnt very accurate anyway, if you know you're good thats all that matters. It can also be a good thing having ****ty stats anyway :D People thinking you're crap before the game and then you go and rape them.

    But then your W/L takes a hammering. . .

I much prefer and have more chance of winning a ffa rather than depending on random teammmates trying to break even. I think i've only lost 3/4 ffa matches.

    That's pretty good going.

I only ever use FFA for challenges like Tactical Mask. Everyone I stun or poison is an enemy :)

You'll get a lot more undeserved losses if you play in a party IMO. If the party is pretty good, the likelyhood is that you'll have a LOT of rage-quitters, as I've experienced over the past month or so

A few of those who have ended up against us were boards players (who I won't bother naming) and who quit game after game, often somehow kicking me out before the end also. (The most annoying of these was in Dom when I had just got my 3rd SR71 and was calling in a Chopper Gunner)

Excatly , over 50% of my losses have been through the the host on the opposite team dashboarding . I remember playing a week or two ago and this happened 9 times in the one night.

Hey magill let me show you a game I just played (in rank version)

    My team

    Me Prestige 8 48

    Team mate Prestige 1 12

    Team mate Prestige non-prestige 19

    Team mate Prestige non-prestige 11

    Team mate Prestige non-prestige 50

    Team mate Prestige non-prestige 21

    enemy team consisted of 4 9th prestiges a 14th and a 12th

haha, yeah thats a typical team balance in cod for ya :D

Imo they should balance the teams on a combination of K/D + W/L, cant be that hard to do.. their auto balancing thing is as good as the host selection, the monkey must have been drunk when coding them.

    Well Holy God!!

Hold on, just thought of something. Does "lost" mean outside the top 3?

PS: If that is the case, although not as impressive, it is still quite a feat. Especially if you play FFA regularly.

the way the lads where talking about fifa 11's online ranking system last night it seems so much better . you dont get the benefit of a game full of noobs where you can sit back and rape but you dont end up against some tank of a clan that you cant put down. every game is played at your level and to go up you have to fight your way up

has anyone got a detailed work up of how the matchmaking system in cod works ?

never mind asked and answered somewhere else . general consensus no the matchmaking system....there is none . your simply thrown into a lobby determined by ping and connection and such and uses no ranking w/l k/d or any other stats to determine how your matched up

If your not first in ffa then it goes down as a loss, when i say 3/4 losses i mean its 3/4 times i didnt come first . I dont play it regularly maybe 25/30 games ,like most people i usually jump into mtdm when on my own , then wonder why i bothered :D.

Well, that makes it fairly impressive then, even over the short sample. But I'm pretty surprised at the fact that you have to actually win. Weren't the older CODs top 3? It gives the team based players a serious advantage over the FFA players on the whole W/L stat.

note: I don't care about k/d or w/l because it's an impossible stat for me to keep. I use a shared account. Most of us are average/a little above average, but I have complete newbs playing on my gamertag often enough too.

If your on a win streak , i'm nearly sure if you come in the top 3 your streak keeps going but if you dont come first it goes down as a loss.

I played against a boards party last weekend, stayed in every game I think bar the 2nd one where my connection went, was starting to get ok scores too in the last few games (even though I wasn't really playing the objective)

I'm going to be honest here and say you didn't stay in the games until the end.

You left over 80% of the games only to join back in in the next one.

Could well have been your connection, but i doubt it.

As Jev said at the time, why do people join games, get raped, leave, and join back in the next game.

Your rite actually ya now that I think of it but for mostly because I was being told at the time that we were leaving at any second(heading back to college),so I actually left just before the end of some games cause I didn't want to get an invite into the party, therefore ye guys would have to leave the lobby and reform and then after all that I might say "actually guys I have to go",basically I just didn't want to cause any aggravation to ye.

I certainly wasn't leaving to protect any of my stats, there terrible anyway, barly above 1
*apologises to Jev,my memory is crap these days

Ahh makes sense now. :pac::pac: Sorry about that Perrin.

My own view on ratios etc is that it's not that important to me.

This is the second game I've ever played online (the 1st being MW2) and therefore I don't expect to be top gun.. plus I'm old and my reflexes ain't the same as they used to be :P (75 Tallon don't ya know!)

I can imagine why its important to some (like the way a golfer wants to keep his handicap at a certain level) but its not like that to me.

If I'm online, I'll bail into MTDM or Dom/Demo, and sometimes get beat by the other side, moreso in Dom/Demo because of the teamwork - therefore my win/loss ain't that great (also effects kill/death if you are the only one playing the objective).

If a person's kill/death ratio is very high, as some say, that indicates a campy style (with a few obvious exceptions!).

Perhaps percentage accuracy would be to me, an idea of how good someone can be.

I consider myself to be a (slightly) above average player, who has the odd crappy crappy game but other than that, does ok.

The whole stat area is broken. I only have a 17 kill streak. Which is wrong.

The killstreak is just how many kills you get , kilstreaks are not included in it.

A there not important, sure everyone knows I'm pure beast at the game anyway :D

It can be interesting to watch K/D and W/L, but I mess around far too much to care.

There has been times where I've entered FFA and gave myself rules (only use tomahawk, pistol, etc), just for the craic.

The only way W/L and K/D would be really useful to me if there was a "I'm faffing about" or "I'm like totally srs" mode that you could switch about, but that would be open to much abuse.

My W/L is terrible, but I've only played alone so far (must join in some Boards games).
