    Hi guys,

I'm having trouble making a decision on jobs. Got offered grad roles with E&Y advisory and Deloitte consulting but cant split them

E&Y salary is about 6k worse but covers ACA/CIMA which may be worth it. I'm trying to think a bit long term about it.

    Who would ye go with?

    Thanks to anyone that replies!:pac:

I definitely wouldn't base you decision on the salary!! your right to think about it and try find out more about each company before making your decision. You would hate to go to a job just coz it was more money and then discover you hate it!!
Sorry I can't help you with any info about the positions though

So you are going to advise people but can't make up your own mind about a job ???? Will you come back here for advice to give to clients ?

    Yeah I suppose you're right.

Getting offered a job as a business advisor should really have conferred with me with extraordinary decisive abilities. I should not need any further information from more informed people. My hesitancy in making one of the biggest decisions of my life shows that I'm not cut out for it and should really reject both offers.

Although maybe I could wing it if I get advice from boards everyday. Now I can't decide what to do again!

My advice is Deloitte but I would say that wouldn't I. :D

It's not my department but those that I know are a good crew. They acquired Currach Consulting in Dec and I imagine most of that client list will come with them so there will be plenty of work and plenty of opportunities to learn from the experienced members in MC.

Apart from Deloitte the rest of the Big 4 got out on the consulting game in the early noughties. KPMG became Bearing Point (bankrupt in the US), E&Y sold out to Cap Gemini and PWC sold out to IBM. They would have had some non compete clauses etc. for a while but now they're trying to reconstitute their consulting wings and are therefore starting from a somewhat standing start IMO. During that time, Deloitte and Accenture have gained a lot of momentum in the market.
