As the title says, the motherboard has packed in in my laptop. So Im wondering is it worth getting repaired?

If you're able to fit it yourself, and you can get a mobo for under €75, then i'd see if you can get a cheap replacement mobo on ebay and see how much more mileage you can get.

If you can't fit it yourself and you're looking at spending a lot of money on parts and labour, then to be honest I would just get a new laptop. Ive seen some great i3 systems in the €400-500 range. You could go and spend €200 fixing it up, but there's no guarantee a different component won't fail in the future. Or whatever failed on the mobo could fail again.

You could recoup a few bob by selling the working components on ebay. CPU, keyboard, optical drive, ram, power supply, HDD, display etc., there's bound to be someone looking for spares.
