How many seats would FG win if they had a popular leader?

Enda Kenny is not very popular. People dont like the thought of him being Taoiseach
What % of the vote would FG be on if they had a really popular leader ?

No doubt he will become Taoiseach but are they missing a huge opportunity here to form a overall majority government?

Popular?Like the way Bertie Ahern was popular? Look what that got us.I'll take the judgement of the Irish people with a pinch of salt.

    IMO, yes.
I think Bruton would have brought them over the line - he's not fantastic charisma-wise either (who cares) but he knows his former brief Finance inside out and would have been able to persuade the electorate to give his party an overall mandate.
After all, "it's all about the economy, stoopid"

I'm looking forward to the spokespeople debates.

Overall majority. I have emailed Phil Hogan on this issue numerous times but always the same response, he is honest, hard working blah, blah. I'm still going to vote for him, I think he has a very good team behind him.

So you wont be happy with whoever is elected, seeing as that will be the judgement of the Irish people ?

If Eamon Gilmore was leader of FG they would be leading the country on their own.

Had Phil Hogan at the door this evening. Same response, delivered with a lot of conviction.

Haven't been too impressed with Enda (in what little I've seen recently), though I'll take honest, hard working but dull over charisma in a politician any time.

If Enda is hiding from TV debates, how can he be taken seriously as a leader
Whats he so afraid of ?

enda is what makes the swing vote think twice about voting fine gael , they would be well over 40% with a different man at the helm

Well if we were to go on posters to internet forums and especially the people who claim they would vote for FG if he wasn't the leader,
especially those who will just have to vote for ff as per usual becuase of him, actually voted for FG I reckon they would get 160 seats easy.

Shure everyone wants to support FG, they would die for FG, but Enda is preventing them.

I am not allowed discuss …

You'll see him in TV debates on RTÉ.

Also how popular is Enda Kenny away from Dublin?

They will probably win in and around the same ammount of seats with him as without him, after all look at the leader ratings, Michael Martin is a "popular" choice for Fina Fail leadr but does that mean they are going to get more seats, I don't think so to be honest!!!

Yes, the anti-Enda stuff I've seen is all "I'm a swing voter and I'd vote FG if it wasn't for Enda, so it's OK for me to vote FF like my mammy taught me to, signed, Socky the Puppet."
