Can't get my money back

Hullo. Was just browsing through the forum and read a post about someone who can't get their money back from the fees office. This made me think of a similar thing that happened to me and I just thought I'd ask for some advice....

Back in September I started 2nd year. After about a week and a half, I had to leave due to health reasons and I emailed the arts department to take a leave of absence. It was a Monday when the time to get the fees back was up and I emailed the previous week.

And now the fees office say that I went on leave of absence on the 4th October but I had emailed the week before and was told that I would get my fees back.

Wth? Plus, the staff in the fees office don't seem to be very friendly....

Print off the email declaring your intention to take a leave of absence. It will be date and timestamped. That is the proof of when you informed them of your intention to leave the university. If you had any further communication with them via email, print it all off. If they told you via email that you would get your money back, print that off as well. Then go and talk to them face to face, bringing your supporting evidence with you.

I also suggest you go and talk to the citizen information people, and see what they say.
