    Folks any thoughts.
Sister bought an 05 golf diesel. First thing I noticed when she had it was, it wasnt starting as efficient as it should be. I diagnosed a dodgy starter, VW dealer said, they replaced fuel pump , didnt fix it, then replaced starter, and it fixed that problem. Since then, she said once or twice a day, if shes pulling slowly into a forecourt or shop or parking, and is in first, she hears this really really loudy "tinny noise" she called it, like she was dragging something under car. My big concern, is that the issue wiht the starter might be highlighting an actual issue with the DMF...any other symtoms of inspections that might highlight that? Its still under warranty for 5 months..

If it's only noticable at low revs, it's probably something loose.....exhaust mounting maybe? My guess is that if it was serious, it would get worse at higher revs...

You could consider getting an independent mechanic to give it the once over...

Maybe thats what it is, i thought though if it was some sort of mounting issue one would think its reproducable a lot. ill keep an eye on it. The starter needing replacing was worrying me......
