Arriving at 8 A.M. from Madrid, and want to catch 10 A.M. to Dublin.

    Just hand luggage.

It would be Tuesday 19 April. I know I have to go out and back through Security.

    Thanks

So long as your first flight is on time, you should be grand.

One tip would be to become familiar with the floor plan of the airport on the website before you go. That way if you are pushed for time you wont have to spend as long figuring out where to go and getting lost in the duty free!

I know this is an old thread but did you make it????

Looking at flights now with an hour and half turnaround, thinking it might be a bit tight...

I did it recently, was arriving from Linz and then on to Shannon. Arrived at Stanstead at 17.45 and departed at 19.55. Carry on only had plenty of time.

When arriving from mainland europe you have to go through passport control but if you have a new passport you can use the self scan system to skip the queue(sorry can't remember the correct term for it)

When arriving from Ireland you don't go through passport control you just go to the left and show your boarding card.

The only other hold up was them weighing the hand luggage going up to the departure gates.

It is a bit tight. If you're getting the first plane in the morning to Stanstead you should be ok as delays tend to mount up during the day. If it were me it would depend on how long I was going away for, if a weekend I'd chance it if not i'd get a later flight if possible.

2 hours is the MINIMUM time you leave between flights at any airport.

In your opinion. Putting it in caps doesn't make it a fact.

Cheers folks, think I'm going to bite the bullet and book the earlier flight to be sure.
Just means getting up 2 hours earlier and giving Mr O'Leary 20 quid more for the privilage as the earlier flight is more expensive..
