Hi all, I am hoping to get some Deer stalking permisions. I am living in Westmeath and looking to tie up with and assist Farmers with Deer problems in the Slieve Bloom areas/Meath /Westmeath/ Wicklow/Louth areas. I have full insurance and have been hunting for the past 25 years. Please let me know if it would be ok for me to hunt deer on your land. Obvousley no risk attached to the farmer as I am fully insured.

Just go and knock on doors. A farmer i called into and didn know gave me deer hunting permission after a chat when i was lookin for vermin and game permission. Unfortunatly i dont have the proper licence or calibre but its there when i want it. You'd be surprised when you ask face to face.

Cheers Dusty87, thanks for the advise, will give it a go. Always found it hard to knock on doors as a stranger but looks like its the only way. Thanks a mill for the advise.

ah yea can be hard walkin to the door sure, but i wouldn go in straight for deer. Offer vermin control, fox shooting etc, and do it. When he see's ya helping out and knows your not just goin to show up the odd day in the deer season he be more likely give ya deer shooting. Respect his land to;) my uncle let anybody in to shoot and now come pheasant season or crop protection the place is in **** from lads he dosn know. Holes in ditches, empty cartridges everywhere. He regretts it now.
