iTunes / account / credit card question

    My friend has an iphone - but she does not have a credit card. I want her to get WhatsApp so we can text for free, but its not free on the App Store. Can I log on to my itunes from her phone and buy it through my credit card? Then download to her phone and log back into her itunes account? Would this work?

    Or, I have a prepaid credit card that someone gave me, which has a few euro left on it. Can I use that? Does the name of the credit card have to align with the name on the itunes account?

    If you're looking to do this, it would probably be a lot easier to gift the app to her. You can do this in iTunes on the desktop, clicking on the arrowing pointing down beside the Buy button. That way she will get the app without paying for it, and it will be tied to her iTunes account so there will be no difficulties or complications in syncing.

    That could also work, the name on the card doesn't have to be the same as the name on the account.

    If you already paid for the app in your iphone I think if you logon with your Itunes account on her phone and click Buy it you can download it for free as you already paid for it.

    Doing this he will also need to sign into the computer to authorise it to be able to sync it back.

    She'll also need the password for updating the app.
