Is it unreasonable to expect an 80 minute prop

As the title says, props are being conditioned to getting a rest before 80 minutes since you must carry an entire reserve front row in club rugby.

A large number of props aren't used to an 80 minute game anymore. Why are they subjected to one at Test level but not at provincial level.

Don't see why it's unreasonable. Shouldn't be a problem long term anyway, the 23 man squads will surely be brought into internationals after the WC.

I don't see why they should. I can't remember the last time I saw an uncontested scrum at international level.

Lions tour, 2009. And it quite possibly decided the series, since up to that point the Bok scrum was being mashed and the Lions were making hay with their advantage.

Totally forgot about that one. My only problem with it is I don't like having such a large bench.

Depends on the game (number of scrums, tactics used etc) and conditions really.

Also at Provincial level, what might be a crucial factor is the length of the season. Magners obviously longer than the ERC comps, Nov series and Six Nations.

I don't see any change in squad sizes happening post-RWC, by the way.
