RIP Gary, you were a master of your craft in this modern world of popstars and flopstars, you are now joining up for the gig of the century up there with Phil and Rory........

Heard this earlier today. He'll be missed. What a guitarist!

It's a cover, but still freakin awesome:

From a time when Irish music was listened to around the world with Rory Gallagher and Phil Lynott at the top of their game.

Ireland has lost a guitar hero with Gary, and I don't see anyone to replace him. Rest in Peace Gary, you brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.

one of the reasons I start playing.
The guy could play anything, metal, blues, jazz.
Lucky I got to see him in the vicar street a few years back and he was amazing.
    Will be sorely missed.

    RIP..

I wasn't his biggest fan but I always acknowledged his brilluant playing. I saw this clip yesterday and its fabulous, it out does Captain Beefheart for just out there rock. And it has to be said a beautiful LP with trapeze bridge and P90s. I believe he also owned the original Peter green (a common hero) Lemon drop LP with the reversed pick up

best wishes Gary. RIP. The King of sustain
