Land saturated here. Had planned to put out slurry in the next 2 weeks but it doesn't look likely. Have 1 tank near full so will have to agitate and draw a few load out of it some evening this week. It won't delay turn out for me unless it stays wet till the first week in May :D

have tanks near full, one tank emptied 2 weeks ago and thats taking slurry from the other two so wont be getting worried until then :( ..and as for turn-out, was hoping to go on the 14th but it would need to dry up a wee bit or else it will be on-off grazing which works great but is a pain in the arse and still waiting to go with urea... shannon is well overflowing 2day but what can be done

yet jack kennedy was advising farmers to get fertilizer out the week before last

i sometimes wonder if that man enjoys being provocative , he thinks the average farm in ireland is moorepark

Flood plains and river banks will be lusceous green this summer - cause that's where half of the fertilizer that was spread on land over the last 2 weeks is gone. The rest is floating somewhere in the Atlantic or the Irish sea.

Not had any rain here in the south east. Cows going out as soon as I can find the strip wire.

FFS:p You have no shame! Can anyone argue that the current SFP system is grossly unfair in Ireland.
Farmers west of the Shannon, are up to their ti*s in muck between October and May. These pansies in the south east are swanning around strip grazing large herds first week Feb.

Change the system .......... no SFP east of the Shannon. All the money to the poor auld sods, trying to keep their wellies from getting stuck in every hole and gap October to May:cool:

whelan you really will have to be banned from talking about the weather, it probably won't stop raining now till May all because you started a thread about it!!:eek:

Whatever you do if there is a dry week in June, DON'T START A THREAD ABOUT IT, cos if you do there won't be a drop of rain till October:P

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

had a nice drop of rain here, by the sounds of it not as bad as elsewhere though, very strong wind which done a great job drying the place up.
cows doing no damage on the driest field in the place.
a couple days of settled weather to finish the fert would be just lovely;)
