I went to school 20 years ago.

What are the main changes. I assume they dont use blackboards anymore.

    What do they use?

There are still a few blackboards around, I had one in my classroom until this time last year. I sometimes accidently refer to the "blackboard" but I'm corrected very quickly:)

There have been a lot more changes in the last 20 years than the colour of the boards, but let's keep this happy.:)

Ref whiteboards - be sure and know where the cleaning stuff is for when you write on it with indelible pen...

    Why are you asking?

If you just scribble over the permanent marker with whiteboard marker, then use your normal duster it'll come off.

Ah, the things you learn in our profession.....You might have to go over it twice but generally it's fine afterwards.

I figured that :D after covering most of a board in black marker notes, but I don't like to admit it in case someone makes horrified squeaking noises and tells me I have destroyed the board! (I haven't by the way, it is still fine:p)

When I started teaching you could put a question on the board(whatever colour), go off for a smoke, come back and the class would have the question done.
Now you put a question on the board, the class go out for a smoke, they come back and you have the question done, and the class dont even notice:)
