    Well lads,
Went for a gander today, held alot of 223s from remington, tikka, cz and howa. The one that felt the best was the Howa.
It had a really heavy barrel thats factory treaded, looks really well made, action was smooth and just felt right in my hands.

Its Priced at 950 for new rifle only.

    How does this sound??

    Any info greatly appricated.

    They are heavy as hell.

Is it to be a hunting rifle?
Up here you can buy a sporter weight one with scope, bases and rings for £750. They throw on a pred 8 mod for an extra £150 (normally £250). It's some offer that Howa are doing....

I have a Howa 1500 Sporter stainless- great gun, fantastic value.

I really like the weight, i wont be doin too much walking with it and 90% of my shots will be taken from bipod

Aye but it didn't have a scope, bi-pod, sling and possibly a mod on it!

The only advantage of a heavy barrel is when you are taking a number of shots one after the other...

I'm not trying to put you off your choice- but I would def have a good think about it! :o
