    Table050211.jpg

Wolves' win tonight has really tightened things up at the bottom of the table with 11 teams separated by just 7 points. It looks like it's between the bottom 6 of Blackpool, WBA, Wigan, Birmingham, West Ham and Wolves for the 3 relegation spots, but anyone up to Newcastle could be pulled into it with a bad run of results.

I think that WBA, Wigan and Wolves will be the 3 to go down.

It's so so tight. Goal difference could be a major factor.

West Ham, Wigan and Wolves to go down.

42 points will be needed to stay up, IMO.

Would like Blackpool to stay up. They play some cracking football. They just need to learn how to hold on to a lead without doing an Arsenal.

IMO he's not quite as bad as Phil Brown. I think they are a sinking ship though. Confidence will be gone soon

which means theyre not too good to go down

no use beating the occasional big name team if you get beaten by those around you. nobody stays up like that

In your opinion. I've never thought of him as anything like Phil Brown.

I love all his interviews whether they are rants or just funny. An absolute breath of fresh air among managers in the Premier League.

Only Mourinho is at his level at interviews of all the managers I've seen in the Premier League.

I'd say the majority of people agree with me that he is great to listen to.

he has his moments, like brown did, but for the most part he's become a boring charicature of himself these past 6 months. clearly says a lot ofthe stuff he does to be contraversial, as if he needs to live up to some sort of standard

Birmingham, Wolves and Wigan to collapse completely and finish bottom.

I still find him entertaining - I think he is helped by the fact that Blackpool play attacking football and their games are usually exciting. If they were playing puke football then everyone would be well fed up of Holloway and his antics by now.

Ah for God's sake he's the best thing to hit the Premiership in years. Long may he continue in it but I fear Blackpool are going to find it very tough to stay up. Definintely 40 pts required to survive. Could be any 3 of 6 IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

I think Wigan will go down and WBA look likely as well. So then it is one of Blackpool, West Ham, Wolves or Birmingham to go down. I think it will be Wolves not sure they have the players to keep them up.

I think there are a lot more teams that could still go down. I don't think Blackburn or Newcastle are safe at this stage. They could easily get dragged into it.

Exactly. His bahavious throughout the Adam saga was particularky cringe-worthy. For a guy who wanted to keep his payer so badly, he did a fair amount of touting him in the press on a daily basis.

Most of the time he's just talking for the sake of it and increasingy his big mouth is starting to get hi in trouble and rub people up the wrong way.

Blackpool really need to stop the rot now, they're beginning to slip. For all Holloway's bullsh8t I'd like to see them stay up, they've played some good stuff. Their defending leaves an awful lot to be desired though.

He really damaged his reputation in January with some of the stuff he said.
He'll never have any dealings with Villa again that's for sure.

Wolves will stay up I think, while on current form they can only beat one more team this season - Arsenal!, I suspect they will start to get points off West Brom (who they have to play twice), Brum and a few others to just survive.

I'll go for West Brom, Wigan, Blackpool

Keane should make a difference for West Ham the fixture list isn't the kindest but its no better in fact prolly worse for Blackpool who have Spurs x2 City, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,592 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

I reckon Wolves will stay up. They've played much better than their position suggests.

Looks like there'll be a few places contested right up until the end, but I reckon it'll Blackpool, Birmingham and West Brom to go down.

No. I was merely pointing out that you yourself are notorious for taking the stance that the majority will disagree with, so its hard to see why you suddenly care if most people will disagree with Helix.

My three to go down are West Brom, West Ham and Wigan.

I think Wolves will still go down. They don't score enough goals. Wigan and possibly Blackpool to join them. West Ham have enough match winners in Keane, Obinna, Piquionne, Parker to keep them up and they spent a bit in Jan.

Record pts total for a relegated club this season, maybe?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,670 ✭✭✭✭Wolfe Tone

I think wolves have been unlucky rather than sh!te tbh

Really don't want Wigan to go down they play some lovely football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 329 ✭✭ValJester

    Wigan,West Brom,West Ham.
Holloway and McCarthy are too good managerially to let this get to them or their teams, and West Ham havn't an ounce of fight in them without Scott Parker.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Still hope West Ham pull out of it

My three to go down at the moment are Wigan, West Brom and Wolves, Blackpool may get sucked in, think Birmingham will survive

Its gonna come right down to wire i think

I previously thought West Ham were doomed but with Scott Parker on top form, Hitzelsperger looking like a great player and with Demba Ba seeming like a fantastic buy and decent reinforcements like Robbie Keane arriving I can see West Ham climbing out of the drop zone.

Wolves and Wigan for me are definites to go, and then Blackpool or West Brom to follow.

So for me I'd put money on it being Wigan, West Brom and Wolves for the drop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,181 ✭✭✭✭Jim

I still think Wolves have it in them to pull out of relegation, but that may just be the fan in me talking. I usually try to be honest when it comes to teams I support and I do think Wolves have been unlucky so far this season. They've played some great games which they've gone on to lose.

Wolves as well only have Spurs from the top 6 left to play whereas the other teams around them have much more lined up. Not that it matters with Wolves. Our record against the top 6 is much better than against the teams around us so far this season :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 585 ✭✭✭Rob113

Id like to see wolves and west ham pull clear. Hard to see both of them pull clear though.

Ideally id like to see west brom, Blackpool and Wigan go down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,460 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

I hope Wolves stay up but they be much better having beaten West Brom and West Ham over past few weeks then Man United and Chelsea.

Think they will stay up, but just.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,827 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

Blackburn could get dragged deeper into this battle yet. They are in rotten form (one win in 6) and they are only 4 points clear of the drop-zone. Those teams below them have known for months that they are fighting for survival, and those teams all seem to be picking up some points recently. Rovers have key home games coming up against Blackpool and Birmingham, if they fail to take 4 or 6 points from those games then they are in serious trouble as they have some tough fixtures besides those.

Impossible to call who will go down this year, bottom 7 teams separated by just 3 points!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

What a massive win for Wigan today when you consider they are 5/1 on to be relegated.
Just when West Ham think they are getting up the table with there recent results. all the teams around them are winning as well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Wolves as I predicted are gradually amassing points and while still in the drop zone are rising. Brum suddenly look in real trouble.

Crazy day. Very important away win for Wolves. 3 points for us and 3 off Villa. But then West Ham getting a point off Spurs and the same for WBA. ARGH. I'd love a day of just good news for once :p

Going to be an amazing final week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,801 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

I'd be extremely worried if I was a Blackburn fan. One of only two teams with no wins in the last five, two from fifteen of the last points available and struggling against teams around them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,303 ✭✭✭blue-army

    17: Blackburn 38
    18: Blackpool 38
    19: West Brom 37
    20: Wigan 35

Just did the predictor thing on BBC Sport and this was my bottom 4.
Really hope Wolves don't go down. Definitely don't deserve to be there - have been very unlucky all season. Same goes for Birmingham, would be weird having a Championship club playing Europa League!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Only 7 pts separating the entire bottom half of the table. Never seen a relagation battle like it. A lot of squeaky bums between now and May!

    17 Bimingham
    18 Blackpool
    19 Villa
    20 Wigan

My bottom 4. Utd to win the league by a point. And, erm, Wolves to finish 12th ><

On St. Stephen's day on another relegation thread I said Blackpool would go down.
    I was laughed at.
    I still stand by it.
