Lambing Jobs

Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of advice and was hoping that someone here could help. My brother is looking to go to university in England to be a vet and needs some lambing experience for entry to a degree. Is it possible to go lambing without any previous experience? Also should he expect to be paid or have accommodation thrown in? Finally, where do farmers advertise for people? He looked in the farmers journal but didn't see anything.

    Thanks,
    BTS.

I did farm work experience (lambing & dairying) for my degree. I did the lambing on the UCD farm so maybe contact them. I didn't get paid at all for the work but I did get accommodation and food. I thought that it was fair enough as it was really good experience and the farmers was taking a risk as they didnt know me. Also offering to work for free can lead to great opportunities, I ended up working on farms for the summer in America which a fantastic experience.

    Good luck.

Did you do your degree in UCD? Thought it was only UCD students that got to work In Lyons estate?
