Cigarette smoke+cooking smells coming through walls from neighbour

I posted on another forum and one of the guys suggested posting here.
We get cigarette smoke and cooking smells from next door. It's like someone lighting up in our house.
We think the smells are coming into our cavity wall and then leaking out - the smells come through one corner of our house (both floors), directly where their extension meets our cavity wall. Their kitchen is in their extension and they have an extractor with a charcoal filter, so there's no vent going out.
A plumber had a look and did a smoke test but he/it wasn't any help. He said they couldn't see anything but we weren't home at the time.
We blocked up some holes we could see with expandable foam, which did help slightly but the problem is still there. The neighbours aren't particularly co-operative, as they don't believe us, so it seems anything to solve the problem will be on our side.
Does anyone have any idea who we could get to have a look for us and advise us as to what to do?
Any help would be very much appreciated:) Thanks....

I have a simular problem with my shop, there is a locked connecting door but it must be so think it just permeates through. I'm going to look into something that can be plugged in, shouldn't have to do that let me know if you have any ideas - Tracy
