roadside checkpoints

    just reading about social welfare asking for pps nos at roadside checkpoints.surely this has no basis in law to ask anyone there business and make an assumption they are working and claiming benifits because they are driving a van with tools in it.if they find a scissors in an unemployed hairdressors car is he/she also guilty of an offence.interesting to hear peoples views on this
