Hi guys hope someone can help me here I'm looking to buy a laptop from abroad , the thing is it says it comes with an ac adaptor ,as I haven't a clue about all this I was wondering would it work here in Ireland ? And if so could I buy and use a European charger instead ? The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A665D-S5178 . Thanks in advance .

You'd need to buy an adapter for the foreign plug. Just a normal one you can buy for a 5er. Other than that it'll be grand.

That's brill so if I wanted could I buy a standard European one ? Ps would you mind having a look at it see what you think ? http://linkejing.en.alibaba.com/product/414887291-0/Toshiba_Satellite_A665D_S5178_15_6_Inch_Laptop.html

Laptop will come with a standard ac adapter which should be 110-240v 50/60. You would just need to buy a "figure of 8" cable for it.

Id be more concerned about buying it from a site that only takes western union etc.. not to mention the duty / vat / customs charges associated with it too.

That site is most likely a scam. There is no protection with western union and it's what those sites use so you can't possibly get a refund. Do not; under any circumstances buy from that site.

Aye, that was a close one!

But seriously, buying online is fine, and is often cheaper. Amazon.co.uk is great value these days, and is a good seller.

Post up any laptops you find and we can advise you on what one is the best.
