I have been unemployed since last May. Have applied for loads of FAS courses but not getting any reply for them. The issue is I already have a level 8 BBS hons in business graduated Sept 2009, which i'm not even getting an interview with but I have noticed alot of jobs in Childcare so I would love to retrain with a level 5 in Childcare would I be able to get back to education?

    Postgraduate courses

You may get the Back to Education Allowance for a postgraduate course of study that leads to a Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) qualification in any discipline or a Graduate Diploma in Education (primary and secondary teaching). Other types of postgraduate qualifications are not recognised for BTEA.

You will not get BTEA if you already have a postgraduate qualification.

You will not get btea for a course at a lower level than the qualification you hold. The only option open to you is a H.Dip... a masters is not covered but if you can get onto an ignite programme that is covered.
