Don't know if you are familar with Costa del Sol, i was there a few times years ago and thought it was v nice, paid a short visit last year and thought it was very run down with a lot of the favourate shops closed.
If you want to go to Spain why not try Fuengerola or Belnamadna, beautiful, it has a lovely marina and really nice shops.

You're in the centre of things in fuengerola. Was there last year and really enjoyed it. 30deg, in April

I'm living in Casares, which is not quite costa del sol, but just up from it. If you don't need a beach, I'd say the hermitage hotel there, la fructuosa in gaucin, molino del santo in benajaon, refugio do juanar in ojen. But I'd say you're looking for sea. If you want to hire out a car, I'd suggest going a bit further than costa del sol, which is just so overbuilt, despite having beautiful surroundings. Check out Tarifa/Bolonia/Zahara de los Atunes/anywhere up towards Cadiz. Or somebody said you could fly to Almeria, then I'd go to parque natural cabo de gata - stay in Aguas Amargas/Las Negras if you want to stay in one particular place. Enjoy!

I'd reccommend going to Benalmadena if its a couple, good nightlife but really relaxing at this time of year and you can easily walk to the other two districts, Fuengerola and Torremelinos. Myself and the fella have been there a few times in different places and the best hotel I got for a good rate at this time of year was called the Sahara Sunset. Is right on the beach in the centre of the town.
Just to warn you though Costa del Sol isnt hot at Easter, but you should get some sun and mild temperatures. If its heat youre looking for, maybe try the Canaries but Id still reccomend Benalmedena :) love that place.

How about Mojacar in Almeria, laid back place, nice beach, good restaurants, lots of bars but not a hopping place. Catch a flight to Murcia and hire a car for the best holiday. PM me if you are thinking of visiting it as it is a regular spot for me to spend a bit of time.
