    Hi Guys,

Looking to lose fat. Finding it very difficult. Heres my Diet:

Breakfast: Porridge with a Cup of tea
Snack: Apple or 2 slides of brown bread
Dinner: Chicken Curry with brown rice or 2 chicken fillets
Snack: Either Apple or 2 slides of brown bread. Maybe peanut butter and 2 Ryvita

I usually do cardio 3 times a week. maybe 25 minutes running & weights 2 times a week. Also so Core work 3 times a week

I'm looking to lose fat. I'm 24 year old male and 5.8. I'm only over 11 stone but reckon I need to gain muscle and lose fat .

    Thanks,

    Mark

Nice to see a diet without a lot of junk in it.

However, there isn't much protein either. You have three meals that are almost entirely carbs, and only one with any significant amount of protein. Apples are good, but you need more vegetables, I don't see any in there. Very low in fat too.

Porridge is good, but try adding a couple of eggs as well at breakfast time.

At lunch, you could replace the bread with some salad and some form of protein. Buy a bag of washed leaves and open a tin of sardines over them if time is tight.

Dinner looks fine as long as there is a decent bit of veg in there.

Supper, maybe replace the bread with some cottage cheese?

As EileenG said, get more protein in. Get protein in at every meal, and drop the bread. Swap an apple for some veg. Drink plenty of water and get lots of sleep and you should see better results. If you're looking to gain muscle, drop some of the cardio in favour of full body weights sessions.
