...is being released in the US. I'm really hoping that europe gets it too but I won't be surprised if we don't.

If it doesn't get an EU release, you can import it.

Japanese games are about 100 dollars new with 10 dollars 'RPG tax' added on.

Wait how do we get this game in Europe from the American version? What is dlc? Forgive my ignorance. I don't want to have to get my PS3 chipped or anything.

You buy it off an american website.

DLC is download content - you do not need to chip anything.

So I go to a US website via the PS3 Internet browser and download it directly from there?

Nope, you import the game from a website that ahipa games here like videogamesplus.ca and then set up a US PSN account, get US points from ebay and download the DLC if you want it.

It was the same with tales of vesperia, no company took up the distribution for europe until a year odd later, forget who took it up in the end. I presume it will eventually come out over here but not anytime soon :pac:

On a side not tho, the last tales game that took over my life was tales of symphonia for the gamecube. Since then the series has been dumbed down again and again regarding game mechanics/strategies/content etc. Symphonia2 (Wii) was a major let down from its predecessor and vesperia wasnt worth the wait.

Saying that.... tales of Eternia, phantasia and symphonia are timeless and are games you could go back to and re-live with the same love you had for them all those years ago :D

There's two teams working on Tales of games. One team makes really good ones, basically the symphonia and vesperia team and the other the really bad games. So there's a difference in quality of all the tales of games. the unfortunate thing is that outside of japan Namco Bandai are absolutely useless and keep bringing out the really bad tales of games recently and leave the really good ones without a localisation.

From what I've heard the story and most of the characters are jank but the battle system is fighting game levels of involved.

It's a Tales game, of course the story is cliche rubbish :)

Anyway I heard the battle system is fantastic as well and the best in the series along with Xillia.

I Finished the game ages ago now lol but for those who want to pick it up the characters pull the story along the are quite good the overall plot is ok I suppose. The Best part about the game is the battle system its fantastic :).

The is no world map like in Vesperia so its odd if your used to that but instead you walk around the whole map through branching sections ala FFX, The towns feel varied and different but there arent that many of them but they are fun to explore but again smaller than Vesperia.

Overall Id reccommend it as it lasted me around 60hrs after the extra content (45ish for the main game) so there is alot of playability in it.
