hi cullen, you will need to do a safety course, and then apply for a 'full' licence, a training licence is only if you are under 16 as far as i know..

    Welcome aboard.

I have moved these posts into their own thread as the thread you posted in is for hunting laws only.

Anyway, in relation to the license. Under 14 you cannot have any license. Between 14 and 16 you can have a training license allowing you to use and carry someone else's firearm (they obviously must have a full license, and own the firearm). You cannot bring their gun home or store it, as its for training purposes ONLY.

Anyone over 16 can apply for a full license, however if you would like to train with someone else on their gun you can have a training license on their firearm at any age. Most people do no do this and simply get a second license on the same firearm.

If its for a gun of your own you will need and FCA1, and many other pieces of info. Have a read through this thread, It covers pretty much all the basics of firearms ownership from licenses to shooting.
