I have been keeping an eye out for car on donedeal lately and the amount of people that spell Volkswagen as Volkswagon is unreal. Why would someone do that?:confused::confused:

Who knows... it amazes me the amount of spelling errors inside adverts in general - seeing as they were all written on computers with spell checkers.

I realise that only Word2007 (maybe) would correct "Volkswagen"..

Never fails to amaze how many people write "breaks" when they actually mean "brakes".

There was a boggo mk3 golf floating around midleton with skanger wheels and "volkswagon" emblazoned across the rear windscreen.

The standard of spelling on Donedeal is terrible. Maybe its due to the texting culture. Last time i was buying a car i ignored ads with bad spelling as i i presumed if you couldnt bother to learn how to write you probably wouldnt be too bothered with routine car maintenance.

Although when i was selling an illiterate texter ended up buying my car :p

I reckon some of the bad spelling on DoneDeal is a result of bad translation by Polish/Latvian/Lithuanian sellers but most of it is simply poorly educated people. The spelling in that "not a penny less dan €16000" one would be funny if it wasn't kind of sad (sad that we have such a poorly educated populace).

To be honest I think its pure laziness and that they couldn't be bothered actually trying.

To me it says a lot more about the person rather than the educational system.
