There was Two Gatso vans monitoring speed today on the Killala to Ballina road today not more than a couple hundred yards apart from each other. This particular area of which they cover is no more than a mile long so to have two vans there is a bit of a farce,,,also it was around 8 this morning so i am reckoning preying on the motorists heading to work....anyone else see anything like this happening?????....with the way things are it doesnt look like safety regulation anymore...

Do you know that they were both issuing tickets?

I've seen Guards do this on the Naas Road at Harris' Hino, one lad with the gun, drivers drive by slowly then plant it and are caught by the second Guard

Perhaps one van was taking photos of the other just incase it was set alight ;)

You are spot on. They also do be at the Iveco garage as well doing the same thing.

I have heard of the two gatsos being in the same town only at different ends. A bit sneaky IMO.

There was one of those private gatsos on the old n11 out of Gorey yesterday with no warning stickers and I cant remember if there was ever a accident on that stretch of road! typical really they assure us one thing and it only takes a couple of months for them to back down on there promises! all they are trying to do is extort every penny out of the innocent motorist who is lucky enough to still have a job to help pay for the mess that those F****rs in the Banks and the Government put us all in.

Unmarked private speed vans don't give out tickets, they only survey.

    *Takes deep breath*

    Thanks for that:)
Also do they only take the pictures from the rear and is it cars coming towards the van or away from the van or both?

Sorry but if they are innocent they wont get any fine. I ain't a member of the high horse brigade, but why would you come on line to complain about some one enforcing the law. If you speed, man up and accept the consequences that are 2 points and a fine.

But its extremely hard to tell the difference between an unmarked GoSafe and a unmarked Garda van. Besides the reg (All Garda vans are older and apparently all D reg, but I wouldn't count on it) there is little in the difference.

Garda vans are all white, all D reg. That'll be your first way of telling.
