The people running the Chinese broadcaster, China Central Television News (CCTV), would give Irish politicians a run for their money when it comes to being chancers. Last week, in a broadcast about the greatness of the Chinese airforce, it robbed a clip from the movie Top Gun and pretended it was their airforce.

Somebody in China spotted it and it was quickly removed from the CCTV News website. However, thanks to The Wall Street Journal you can still see a comparison between the CCTV excerpt and the Top Gun excerpt on The Guardian website: Good for the Goose, good for propaganda: China steals Top Gun clip

'A CCTV representative said the broadcaster couldn't immediately comment on the similarity'. :D
