Has anyone tried the Shellac Nails? If so, are they any good and do they actually last or do they ruin the nail when it's taken off?

The Spa @ T&G Clarendon Street are doing an offer on them was thinking of getting them if there any good.

My sister had them done and they lasted ages (she's a manicurist and was really impressed). The removal is as good as the person doing it, hers was terrible and started peeling them off when the remover wasn't working as quick as she'd like. She said they weakened her nails a good bit but the finish while they were painted was very good.

I got them.. Very limited colors, all reds and pinks..

They lasted for about a week, my thumb and index finger were first to start to chip, the rest still perfect..

They don't damage your nails at all

    I have done them 3 - 4 times.
My natural nails are very soft, cant get any lenght, cause they will break, its allways been like that no matter what supplements or/and nailcare i use. Regular nail varnish lasts till next morning if i colour before bed.

First i did french in shellac. Had them on for almost 3 weeks, first time in my life i had decent lenght nails :D I absolutley loved them! (even made some pictures :D ) Didnt like how removing stuff dried my skin, it felt very dry (visibly too) even after soaking in lotion, for ~ 2 - 3 days, then fine again.

Second time couple nails lasted ~ week. But this time another member of staff did them and i kinda felt that she is bit rushing with drying. Went back and had them redone and they lasted perfectly for 2 weeks.

Third, must say, that i put new ones on the same day as removing, so not too good girl, time with Xmas and holidays i didnt bother going back to remove on time, then they started peeling off and i decided to peel them off myself. Couldnt have done sillier thing - tips off nails kept craciking and layering since, now almost outgrown, but will take a while for another shellac time.

I had them in french, bright red, pink, prefered french, cause you cant see that much if they grew longer.
Deffinetly recomend. But please dont try to peal them! :D

How much is their special offer? And when does it end?

It's my birthday in three weeks and I was hoping to get the Shellac nails done. There's a local salon near my home place which I think charge €60 for them (and that's outside Dublin). I could be wrong with the price though (I'd certainly hope I'm wrong lol).

OMG 60 euro!!! I paid 35 for mine, and that price was about the same around here. Removing was free.

I got them done twice. I got the French manicure. They look great for the first week and then I got a few small cracks. They help your nails to grow since they are more resistant to knocks. I think mine cost just over 30 euro and the salon does a special of Shellac and a blow dry for 45.

I can't say enough good positive things about Shellac.
I originally got them thinking "30 euro for a nail paint? Storminateacup, are you for real?".
I got them, and fell in love with them. They lasted on average about 3 weeks for me, with small cracks appearing in the 2nd week. I had them taken off (soaking in acetone will remove it at home) and reapplied straight away until I started college. I couldn't have my nails nice for my course. I got them done again the day I got my christmas holidays, and they lasted all throughout christmas and new year.

They're amazing. I wouldn't let a gel or an acrylic near my nails, but shellac is amazing. They dont wreck your nails, but you shouldnt be paying more than 30 for them.

Thanks for all the replies. My birthday is soon so I think I'll treat myself. :)

The offer in T&G at the moment is €30 or a course of 3 for €75 & 6 for €150.

Just wondering where this offer is Pythia?

Ebano Ballinteer. It's here on their website (called '2/3 week manicure & spray tan or blow-dry only €45'). http://www.ebanosalons.ie/jan-offers-ebano-ballinteer/
