    Loc8 Unlocks Now Available for Garmin Nüvi 2x5, 12xx, 13xx,14xx and 37xx Series Only.
    • 12xx, 13xx and 14xx Series Units Purchased since 1st June 2010 WITH Ireland & UK mapping preloaded are free to unlock.
    • 37xx Series Units Purchased since 1st August 2010 WITH Ireland & UK mapping preloaded are free to unlock.
    • Unlocks for 2x5 series devices can be unlocked for a special price of €1.99
    • Older units and those purchased WITHOUT Ireland and UK mapping preloaded will Cost €1.99 incl. VAT to Unlock
    If you device is not eligible for a free unlock, you will be able to enjoy the special price of €1.99 for a limited time only.

    Be Careful!

    Got an email from Loc8 yesterday with this offer. Proceeded to update my Garmin Nuvi 265W. Did it work? No!

    Emailed loc8 and received an email that started as follows.

    "Good Morning xxxx,

    We are experiencing some problems with the website at the moment; please copy attached file in to your satnav."

    Haven't got round to loading the patch yet, but it all looks a little untested.

    O.K after my last post I loaded the file onto my Garmin 265W and it's now working fine with Loc8 codes.

    Loc8 is not a postcode - it is something much different and has been around for a while already and is not waiting to be picked by anyone - it is already on all the popular automotive products of the largest SatNav manufacturer globally and most popular in Ireland and new iphone App to work with Google Maps to be out shortly!

    The €70 approx? you are talking about is a once off Lifetime update to allow you update the mapping every quarter via the web for as long as the device survives....................

    Both a little different that you have suggested I think!
