Thinking of buying 2007 auris 1.4 petrol buying it off a dealership. Never asked about the nct when I was enquiring about the car. Just wondering would the nct be up or say its not and maybe has 2 or 3months left too run can you get the dealer too do a fresh nct or what way does it work.

Even if the NCT is up, a 4 year old car will usually fly threw the test after completing some basics, tyres, bulbs etc.

Ye but my point would be could get
it with the dealer when Im agreeing a deal and would save me a few quid for the test extra...

You can do the NCT early.. I am no expert, but I am sure someone said the first one can be 6 months early.. or was it 3?

Car can be put through 6 months early for it's first NCT, if it's registered very late in the year it's possible you will have to wait for the summer, you could always put in the deal that any faults found at NCT would be rectified at garages expense.

If it's a Dublin reg I'd say if it's below 40,000 it's pre June and if it's after it's likely the 2nd half of the year.

Thats right first test can be done 6 months before due date, the due date of a car is the date of first registration so unless the car was registered in July or after it can go straight away

This would be late in the year or possibly UK import in which case it could be any month.
