Windscreen Insurance Claim - Increase in next years premium?

    I have windscreen insurance with Quinn Direct and I have a cracked windscreen - if I claim for a new windscreen does my overall premium for next year sky rocket?

    Check with Quinn, but glass claims generally don't affect the NCB.

    I had a windscreen replaced by Quinn about 4 years ago and it had no effect on future premiums with them or any other company.

    Check your policy as normally you need to have full compehensive insurance to claim for windscreen otherwise it's an extra with 3rd party fire & theft...

    As said previously Windscreen replacement will not effect your no claims bonus..

    Its not even included in "standard" Comprehensive with Quinn, its an addon. That they're very poor at telling you about.

    Some insurance companies limit the number of windscreen claims you can make in a given time period, usually 12 months before it effects your NCB. However consult your insurance policy documentation or check with your insurance company/broker.

    Be aware that alot of insurance companies have discounted agreements with certain glass replacement companies and will insist on you using them or will not cover the full cost of replacing the glass.
