I'm definitely more talkative. Some of my guy friends said they are more emotional though.

    Has anybody noticed this?

    Bah, hangovers!! Man up!

The only thing that's emotional is the toilet who I leave crying after I've fed it a pure concentrated form of evil from the night before.

I'll agree with amacachi, i'm super horny when hungover. Not emotional tho.

If I have a savage hangover, then I am quite capable of crying at movies. Even really bad ones. I went to see The Notebook and cried at a scene that in normal situation would have had me laughing nastily and muttering 'Izzat so?' at the screen.

Since I'm a man I thought that what emotional meant.

I always become emotional after a nights drink.
Usually because I know the pubs and clubs wont be open again for hours :(

Depends on the hangover really. If it's very bad I might shed a tear watching some talent show ****e while I'm recovering on the sofa or when the Trocaire ads with the distended bellied babies come on. Also always super horny.

All my feelings and emotions are magnified when I'm hungover. Sunday night just gone I had the depressions in a major way. Also get super-horny.

^^^ This. I have been known to cry watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition and X Factor.

Also, one day I was hungover watching TV and the Concern ad came on with all the sick kids. I started bawling crying and rang up there and then and pledged my €15 a month :o

    I get 'the fear'.

Even if I have a 100% recollection of the night before, I still get 'the fear'.

Oh no! I hate very little more than the fear!

As for hangovers, wouldnt get emotional, rarely get em but do like a good sexy session the morning after a night out as well! This is a side effect to alcohol that I think needs more study! :)

I definitely get more emotional when I'm hungover ... but I'm an emotional type of guy anyways!!!

BUT ... back to the horniness ... has anyone worked out why this is the case? Does the same thing happen to girls? I can remember trying to google this before and never got any straight answers.

This is exactly the type of stuff science needs to be answering :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,562 ✭✭✭scientific1982

Yeah and I'm not generally an emotional person. The land before time would destroy me atm.

If its a bad hangover ill cry if I burn my toast. The smallest things drive me mad. If its a medium hangover, tea cure's all!

I usually feel like killing myself for a while then get panic attacks ect and cry myself to sleep while seeing things move in my room. The usual stuff
The next day I'm fine again.

    .....you should probably stop drinking

I envy those who feel horny. I usually feel like a postdrunk zombie; dead but moving slowly. Sometimes painfully. No emotion. No blue sky thinking. No more whiskey. I think I'll try white wine. End up watching unfortunate people on Dr Phil. Watching Dr Phil with the curtains drawn. Yep, I can see the cruel humour in that. And then I still have to clean up.

If I wake up early after a hape of scoops I tend to be uncontrollably hyper and manically happy.

btw I think panic attacks as part of your hangovers could be related to blood pressure, drink sugar water.

I have a few different versions of hungover-ness

Version 1: I eat my ickiness.
Version 2: I get unbelievably giddy. As in, I can't even talk to human beans in the real world because I'm like a giggling bag of gooey giggles.
Version 3: I am sad. So sad. The world is a bleak, tawdry place and I cry at EVERYTHING. My life is SO sad and what am I DOING with it? Note: I cannot watch anything on tv in this stage. Extreme Makeover Home Edition once had me in floods.

Version 4: The Voms. I'm a vommer. I could intermittently have nice little polite vomits with any of the other versions but version 4, good god. It's only vomming, all the time. Wherever and Whenever, the vom does not discriminate. Oh the places I have vommed.

I always have a big hungover horn on me in the morning.

Basically, no sex in hungover horn land for me.

She has to clean herself in the shower in the morning before anything. Why?

I usually just want a hug if no horn is avail, so we usually just cuddle. I like that as much.

I have also cried, SOBBED actually at Extreme Makeover Home Edition, I genuinely think it is the most moving show on our televisions today. Apart from Ty Pennington needs to stop shouting.

As for the horniess. HELL NO. I'm a "do.not.touch.me.or.I.will.vomit.on.your.stupid.face." Kind of gal.

the phenomenon seems to affect girls too, many the discussion i've had with my girlfriend lying in bed at midday in a haze....

there was actually a scientific explanation in front one month, someone basically wrote in asking why the hell am i so horny after drinking....

i never, ever get headaches, only nausea, which i think is infinitely worse. it's amazing in the years between ever 18-23 how worse your hangovers actually get...

Do you mean they get worse during this period and then get better or they gradually get worse and worse?
I actually find my hangover aren't as bad as they used to be, but I only drink max once a week now. I also get a lot of exercise which I think helps.
It does mess with my head mentally for a while though after a heavy binge.

and they get worse. alcohol is poison after all - albeit nice poison.

as for the op, if you mean short tempered and irritable, yup.

    Nah, just wrecked.

I get emotional when I drink, however. :pac:

The fear ravages my life for 2-3 days after a big session as little bits come back to me from the night. Its almost not worth it any more.

I watched Slumdog Millionaire with a hangover from a 3-day binge and bawled my eyes out at the end of it. Alcohol supposedly lowers testosterone and increases estrogen in the body.

I need to lay off the sauce...
