Just got a call from the Dept about late registration of calves. Apparently SFP will be affected this year if calves are registered late. Dont know if there are any tolerances but keep an eye on the dates when registering

cant understand how people can let it go so long , we tag as soon as born and register on same day, hate seeing big calves with no tags , surely some tracability can be lost

I do the same and register by ICBF animal events book every week. A full sheet of 10 regs got lost in the post (or i forgot to post it:o) and now i get flagged for late regs despite informing them when the cards were late but still before 27 days old. Sh*t happens:mad:

    +1

Get online, agfood.ie, very hard to make a mistakes as it matching entries to database before accepting. The simplest mistake in the ICBF book and its sent back to you, I forgot to fill in the year sometimes and I got it back:mad:

Get yourself a netbook. For around €300 you'll get a little thing with all the gismos for wi-fi built in, and still have room for the Big Mac on a table at McD's.:D

Get a can of spray paint, put the mammies no# on the calf(anguses/hereford and occasional holstein are a problem:rolleyes:). Then again we dnt usualy have that many to worry bout.:)

The "show circuit boys", all suffer from collective amnesia:D All seem to leave a few calves about 4 months before they get regd. Seems to help thrive though, they all have mighty arses and fleece condition as a result, and pass off as young wans:rolleyes:

yup , its a bit like the underage football , there's always 1 or 2 on the other team that must have been late being registered too
