What the hell does our SU President do?

Has he actually done anything he said he was going to? he's crap at responding to any emails and anonymous marking has still yet to be brought in. An update on what he has achieved so far would be nice...

unsure about the president, but I have to say the education dude is fantastic, had an issue brought it up with him and he gave me a nice detailed email(quick response to) on all the things I can do with the issue.

They were actually to keep a blog, iirc, of what they were up to etc, etc. but that doesn't seem to have happened.

Grand the people below him do a good bit of work, but what about our president? why did he look for our votes and then we don't hear of anything he's done? He is the face of the student union really.

If you go to any of the class rep meetings which are open to all students
(dates can be found by contacting the SU or your class reps) you would see the LARGE amount of work the guys do. They are addressing the anon marking issue not 100% on what was finalised tbh.

But I don't see why people complain when they don't check their facts first..Just saying..:rolleyes:

Never had any dealings with the president, but the Education and Welfare officers have both been excellent whenever I had any problems.

Would have to agree with statements made about the two VPs. Very happy with both Welfare and Education Officers. Always answer your emails promptly with detailed replies. Always have a good summary of their "doings" at the Class Rep meetings too.

Not sure about the President. He doesn't exactly come across as inspiring, but I'm not going to comment on him since he could easily be working his ass off without me knowing.

If the Rubberbandits are the main music act then the "President" is full of sh**e! One of the main things that he was campaigning with is that we should be able to attract big big acts to the College. Now how are the Rubberbandits bigger than Calvin Harris? Not bashing the Bandits (Got my ticket this morning!) but they can hardly be considered "Big"

AFAIK there are an awful lot of meetings for various things with university officials, VPs, and faculty things. Red tape on red tape. Not sure if a lot of it is necessary for the SU to be involved with. I was class rep last year and I asked a lot of questions over the point of a lot of it. Surely their time could be better spent elsewhere.
