I'm looking for a light foundation for day time wear. I've tried Nivea tinted moisturiser which I found very yellow (i was asked several times was I ill) and been to makeup counters and the foundations they've given me are always yellowish, I'm really pale so my face never matches my neck! Any suggestions that aren't really expensive?? thanks

the best makeup i have ever used for day and night is MAC face and body foundation, it is great value, aprox 25 euro for 120mls, comparing that to my old elizabeth arden, which cost same for 30mls. also they will match the foundation to your skin tone. it is brilliant :)

My foundation of choice is Barbra Daly at Tescos. About €11 for a bottle, but its amazing. I wear porcelain white cos I'm very pale too, so its never too makeupy looking, orangey or anything. Its liquid, might not suit all skin types. Defo worth testing, my housemate swears by it too.

Max Factor XPerience Weightless in light ivory is really, really great. Nice light finish but covers spots, you don't need much - think it's €11.99 now? I normally, other than revlon colorstay, only buy department store brands but this is one of the better foundations I've tried and there's no yellow in it at all. I'm still surprised at how good it is really!

I use Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation and find it brilliant.

I use it every day and find it amazing. It gives full coverage, but still looks natural.

A little goes a long way. It's a liquid foundation, so may not be what your looking for OP.

Is there more then one? I tried one a few years back and I was very unimpressed. It did turn orange as it oxidised for me.....

There could be, not entirely sure. I always just get the same one, in the little glass square bottle in the palest shade. Never had anything better :)
