    hi,

There is a really old (almost 40 years) range in my home house (see previous thread, we need to renovate eventually), its oil & is connected to back boiler & approx 6 radiators.
It needs to be replaced - but the thing is that we no longer need the 'baking' part of it, so is it a waste to buy a range rather than a stove? Or would a stove be enough to heat the water & the rads?

I think myself that the whole system (tanks etc.) would need to be sorted/changed.

Looking at something like this: http://www.waterfordstanley.com/Products/Rangecookers/1184.htm - the Comeragh model

What I really like about it is that you can put it on a timer - and with the house being unoccupied during the week, we def need some way to have the heating on for a bit each day.

Anyone care to advise me on (a) cost of buying & fitting & replacing the whole system and (b) what else should I consider? I'd like to stick to oil as I find it is the warmest option.
    Thanks
