ok plain and simple been told quite a few different opinions by different shops and players as to what works best
one shop said anything tighter than 6.03 was too much but one player and his gun he showed me with a 6.02 barrel was getting more ranger than the 6.03 and was using same grade pellets as myself with no probles
so what have you fitted (include make and type barrel fitted 2material it is from")

sorry also to add in your opinion what type material do you reckon is best e.g aluminum, cold rolled steel, brass etc

He probably got more range than you because he had a better hop up rubber such as a Guarder silicon or such.

It's generally accepted that Madbull and Prometheus(both 6.03) make the best tightbores for aegs, it would be hard to find a manufacturer superior to these two. Other brands such as Systema, Vanaras, Guarder etc are all worth a mention and they make quality tightbores too.

There's no need to really obsess about the material used to make the barrel, the above manufacturers use various materials but they're all great end products.

Pick a good quality barrel and buy a good hop rubber like a Guarder silicone one and you'll get great results:)

ive been told avoid copper and aluminum and better to go for cold rolled steel and stainless steel
i could see the logic in these choices
the hop up will make a big difference then also yes ?

I don't know any brands made with copper so I can't say if they would be good/bad but I think Madbull use aluminium for their barrels and they're considered one of the best.

Yeah, the hop up rubber is the biggest factor in any guns range. The Guarder silicon ones come recommended:)

I think BB quality would have to be a consideration if anything smaller than a 6.03. A 6mm bb with anthing more than a -/+ 3% tolerance could clog up your barrel.

I'd say the tolerance would want to be less than that.

I don't think BBs are manufactured to be actually 6mm in diameter though. I use G&Gs which claim to be 5.95 +/- .01

The point about BBs is correct though, Raptors and other low quality BBs should be kept well away from airsoft guns.

Whomever told you to avoid copper probabley meant BRASS which is the material used in most standard barrels-they probabley need more cleaning as does anything else made of brass. This being said SYSTEMA make theirs from a high quality brass(6.04) and who of us can argue with their expertise-personally I have experimented with several and have developed a liking for PDI 6.05 stainless steel. As other posters have pointed out a good hopup unit and rubber are VITAL-as Stonewolf said good quality bb's a must.Word of caution though be sure your barrel/hopup unit and rubber are compatible with each other as there can be very minute differences from different manufacturers products.
So to sum up-most good quality barrels will do the job. 6.02-6.05 should be both accurate and consistent-different people have their own preferences.
Compatable good quality hopup unit and rubber a must.
    Use only good quality bb's.
PS : Bad mags can also cause no end of problems in this area also,
    Hope this helps,
    Dave.

I've been using that same barrel for a while now, and have changed back to a Madbull Black, which gives me much better results.

I've use prommy 6.03mm inners in all my aegs and find them great, although it must be said I had a KM TN 6.04 that was bloody brilliant too.

I have a Prommy in one AEG and it's briliant, but I tried an SRC 6.03 barrel recently, in a different AEG, and again the performance seems geat. Can't say whether it's better or worse than the Prommy, all I know is my G3 now kicks arse. SRC barrels are cheap on this site

Shipping can be a killer though, you'd want to be getting a few bits together to make it worthwhile. The upshot is it's Poland so no extra taxes.
