Baby car seat on Aer Lingus

Does anyone know what Aer Lingus policy is on bringing a baby car seat ? I know a buggy can be brought free of charge for an infant but can't find anything on the website about a car seat. Does it need to be treated like an additional piece of luggage ? Unlike Ryanair, it isn't listed as an additional luggage item on the website.

I've seen people take them on board. Not sure how it works though, as an infant under 2 years of age doesn't get their own seat and the child must be secured on a parent's lap anyway for takeoff and landing.

If you mean to check-in, I doubt they would charge for it, but don't quote me!

Yeah I'm looking to check it in. I just want to be clear on the rules as last time I brought a buggy for my 2 year old, they said that free buggies only apply to children under 2....which to me sounds dodgy as a buggy for a 2 year old is arguably a piece of mobility equipment. They did let it on though.

There's a thread on this on the parenting forum (or toddlers subforum maybe?) and the general consensus is that they'll take the car seat off you and treat it as luggage.

As in I need to pre-purchase an extra €30 piece of luggage or they'll take it without charge ?
