how they intend to fulfil promises

I was thinking today - when reading about some election campaigns kicking off (on teletext news) - the promises made so far...

sure dont they all tend to sound lovely.... but thats not good enough anymore. in the past these promises have failed to materialize or they were forfeit for a coallition etc.

what i'd say to all parties is
i dont just want to know what you'll do if you're in power
i want to know how you intend to do it
give it clearly to us - at least ideas not just rubbish that sounds good at election time

for example - i love the idea of job creation (which i saw FG promise today) but most parties will say this. how will you create those jobs? especially with the IMF hanging around your neck.

its a thought. and i hope one that is hitting many at the moment

im not being negative 'you cant do it can you?' - i really would appreciate if they'd clarify their promises

Go to the parties' websites and read their policy documents to see for yourself.

I agree that these need to be taken with a pinch of salt but fact remains, they are canvassin and as a result, are better in tune with what the electorate want.

Perhaps I am being too optimistic, but nobdy can be that bad at their job.
I believe that when FF got into power they had some intention of serving the public, but they became complacent and that was their biggest undoing.

Whatever opposition party comes in will be a welcome change at first, but if they remain in too long, they may start to brainwash themselves with their own rhetoric.

you can get that stuff on a website. but why dont they clarify it with their election leaflets - instead of canvassing the same house with the same leaflet 3 times a week - do a bigger leaflet once a week. and not everyone who can vote has the internet - such as older people
