Best way of cleaning glasses ?

Just got my first pair of reading glasses, so I'm new to this whole thing.

Problem is that due to the shape of my face, my glasses always touch my eyebrows and after a while you get a build up of sweat/grease at the top of the glasses.

Cleaning the glasses with the supplied cloth just smears the grease all over the lens, so that after a few cleans I'm looking through a foggy film :D

What do the experienced people on this forum use to clean their glasses?

Which products/methods give the best results without costing a fortune?

You could try doing a couple of things to stop your eyebrows touching the lenses. By widening the nosepads will allow the frame to sit a little lower on your nose. Or you can narrow the nosepads to push the frame forward. It's best to get the opticians you got the glasses from to do the adjustments cos if they break the nosepad off they have replace the frame and they should have the techniques to do the adjustments without breaking the frame.

You should be able to buy a bottle of lens cleaner from any Opticians or from certain websites (this is available on my site)

Frames shouldn't be touching the face, if you go back to the opticians where you purchased the glasses, they can lower the frames assuming they have nosepads or they can alter the pantoscopic tilt.

Can buy a spray and cloth in any opticians or pharmacy, however the cheapest (and equally safe) way to clean your glasses is warm soapy water.

Easier said than done when you have neanderthal eybrows like me :D

Anyhow ...I've since found a brilliant cleaner. You know these moist surface wipe kind of paper tissues ...for computer screens and other surfaces? Well, we've got a box of them here that have long since dried out from under-use ...they make a great spectacle cleaner. Dry enough not to smear but still full enough of cleaning agents to actually tackle grease and not just smear it.
