    I was studying today for Irish and i realised something, I know NONE of the Grammer rules, i dont have them written down, and they arent in my book. I cant find a full list of them online and i cant ask my teacher because Shes useless, and very unhelpful, if i asked she would probably tell me to go read the book or ask another student in my class (who wont know obv.)

    So i was wondering, could anyone on here give me a general list of them, like the stuff we need to know for Q2 B on paper 1?

    You wouldnt even be able to understand how gratefull i would be to you!

    sorry for the essay, im just getting a bit desprate :O

    :D

    +1 Great book. But If you can't understand the rules and stuff (because they're all as gaeilge)

    Let's see, Grammar Rules.

    Let's start with the Aimsir Chaite - Briathra Gearr

    Examples:

    The roots of the verb..
    Dún - to close
    Tóg - to take
    Bog - to move

    -> In the past tense
    Dhún
    Thóg
    Bhog

    Basically you add a h

    If your putting it in the Foirm Dhiúltach(Negative form)
    -> Níor + Verb with a seimhiú(h)
    exmp. Níor thóg mé
    Níor thógaimid

    Foirm Cheisteach
    -> Ar + Verb with a h

    Iolra ->
    verb + seimhiú -amar / -aimid
    -earmar / -imid

    Now the Briathra Fada

    Examples.
    Verb Root
    Ceannaigh - to buy
    Imir - to play
    Imigh - to go

    -> Past Tense
    Cheannaigh
    D'imir
    D'imigh

    Basically add a h when it starts with a consonant or a D' with a vowel or an F.

    An Fhoirm Dhiultach
    Níor imir
    Níor Fhreastail
    (H with consonants, vowels remain the same)

    An Fhoirm Cheisteach
    Ar imigh?
    Ar ullmhaigh?
    (same rules apply as an Fhoirm Dhiultach)

    Iolra
    D'imríomar
    D'fhreastlaíomar

    Hope that helped, sorry for the lack of decent english, I go to a gaelscoil :)

    Very handy book. I suppose you could get your teacher to explain, if they're helpful.
