I'm in Waterford so can't vote for either of these candidates.

In an election that will define the country for at least a generation it seems a shame to me that there is not more we can do for them in Waterford.

What support would they have if one of their team ran in Waterford?

    For me the issues are

    - the IMF bailout
    - the banks
    - the deficit
    - systemic reform

He seems quiet on these, we need nationally focussed independents, not local ones.

    This just isn't true.
Independant isn't a party. One independants policies and another can be totally different.
Infact, Donnelly and Sommerville are quite different.

OP I'll say two things 1) If you can't identify with policies of particular parties, Its important to look at the policies and ideas of the independants or better still contact the Independants in your constituencies and make them try to convince you.

    2) Don't look too closely at Dublin/GDA. Sommerville, Donnelly, Ross etc probably have this profile cos they are near to major media outlets.
