    Hi all.

I work full time, and have a medical card.

Is it true that if you are a medical card holder, you are not due to pay the 7% levy, and should be at 4%?

Or is this another urban legend like the social welfare giving extra money if you have a puppy?

In the December 2010 budget, medical card holders were to pay the USC at the same rate as others.

In the past week, an amendment has been made which caps the percentage to 4% rather than 7%. However, [I'm not sure about this next part] the amendment has to be voted on as part of the Finance Bill so it probably isn't yet in force but should be within a week or two.
