Fringe, making Fridays a better place since last week.

Can a passing mod please modify this to have a poll with:

    1) Truly Awesome
    2) Good
    3) So-so
    4) Poor

Excellent episode, much stronger then last week. We got some good meat in this ep. Peter being "weaponised", seeing the machine constructed, how Peter's presence powers the machine, Walter growing a brain - literally. William Bell removed those parts of his brain for a reason....it's gonna see all hell break loose of his new intelligence ends up making him like Walternate.

Olivia and Peter seem to have struck a truce, and nice use of Fauxlivia as well. Tis all starting to come together now.

    Top rated show last night....
FOX (4.31 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the top demo draw for the second week in a row on Friday thanks to new episodes of "Kitchen Nightmares" (4.05 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3) and "Fringe" (4.57 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1).

Excellent episode, but I was confused about one thing. If Peter wasn't tested in the scanner (Nina said he hadn't been in yet?) then who was?

She said she wanted to schedule a round of tests. Pretty sure she meant more tests, because they didn't find anything first time around.

Pretty good episode alright! Although I think Peter may always have had that in him, perhaps not to that extent. Should be pretty interesting if Walter does indeed manage to regrow his brain with human tissue!

Btw op, it was episode 11, 10 was last week. Might want to change the title.

Thought this was very good and opened up a new line of stories.

Peter's been "activated" but what does that actually mean? Why would it drive him to take out the shape-shifters really? Has the machine fulfilled its purpose? Will it activate others? How was it able to trigger Peter - was he altered at some point? Does it tie into the Observers at all - are they always passive? What connection does it have to the first race?

Actually, here's a thought, are the Observers the first race? They conquered technologies, etc. and transcended the limitations of time. After having seen their own civilization fall, they vowed never to interfere again.

Interesting point about whether or not the machine has already fulfilled its purpose. Maybe it was just built to set him down some path, we know observers do things in convoluted ways.

I agree that the observers are probably from the first race. They're always interfering though, setting events in motion.

I don't think the first race will be from before the time of the dinosaurs. For some reason I find it more plausible that they're an advanced version of us or something from the future (we know they can already time travel) that came back because their world was destroyed and they're trying to set a course to stop this from happening. *Just a theory*

Good episode overall. Not sure which I prefer, Altivia or Fauxlivia, jury's out at the moment. Anyone ever have grape chewing gum? Must try it.

great episode yet another boost to push the show on, i think it great and isnt standing still or going in circles, just sonstantly being pushed forward which is what i love about this show,

i would say the observers are the first people, like the ancients in stargate, they can watch but are not allowed to interfear with events, and interfearance has consequences, it like what they said earth has been spining for billions of years, theres been 6 extinctions events we know of, and humans have only been around 250,000 years, who to say we are the greatest race to inhabit this planet,

interesting how peter interacts with the machine, i wonder is he actually able to comunicate with it at all,

also youd wonder why they dont give olivia a dose of cortexifan every so often, if they did she would be able to see the shapeshifters,

i think it will be interesting to see how sanctuary and smallville will affect the ratings when they return, i wouldnt expect much crossover from CSI:NY at all, even if they air at the same time (im not 100% on if they do), but its great if it holds this audience maybe even grow it,

Lack of poll, wrong episode number, I'm surprised I managed to get the right trailer :o

Great episode though, glad to see my fear of Fringe losing it's momentum once Olive was rescued was unfounded.

    Also, Fauxlivia ftw!

    Great episode.

As usual Walter has all the best lines - telling Nina he was just thinking of her after he served himself some whipped cream :D or is that just my dirty mind?

    Definitely prefer Fauxlivia.
