Reclaiming Taxes on unused flights?

Ok lads, I am flying to the US in may and from their on to Peru a few weeks later, however, I still have to buy a return ticket into the US for a few reasons, it's just the easiest way. However, I have just discovered that if I cancel the return leg I can reclaim the airport taxes. Does anyone know how hard/easy this is to…

Ok lads,

Does anyone know how hard/easy this is to do with B.A. or how long it takes for a refund to be applied to your account?
