migrating xbox live account - help

i just got a new 360 slim and i want to migrate my current live account on to it. when i go to xbox live i only have the option to sign up , not sign in or migrate. there does not seem to be much online about it can anyone help . excuse the ignorance :-)

If you still have your old console, you can transfer your profile with a USB stick. Otherwise, you can migrate using the recover gamertag option.
