A load of Bullxxxx, some shoots put a fine on white pheasants that are shot, but that's about it,don't worry a bit about it.

Nice one mousey, I was out shooting with my springer about 4 years ago and she raised a white pheasant, perfect flight out my side, however I spend so long admiring it with my mouth wide open, that I missed it.
The guy with me off course then felt it was an opportune time to state the obvious, " you should have shot it first, then you would have had all the time in the world to be looking at it"

Still though nice to have seen one in the wild.

Seen a White pheasant at the game fair down at birr castle. Lovely looking bird, it would be nice to have one stuffed if shot. Would they breed in the wild with other birds? Would you get a weird hybrid coloring if they breed in the wild?

It's a wonder it could survive for a year or two mousey, it must stick out like a sore thumb when it's not snowing.

I shot a White one last season. But thanks to my springer he was minus a tail when I got to him. A real shame

Brilliant looking bird Mousey 07 and the taxidermist did a great job.

I'm not sure where it's permanently displayed but I would avoid placing it on a windowe sill....the sun will fade it rapidly.

I know it's white but its red face on the side facing the sun will fade and the feathers will turn yellow.

Fabulous mount & worth taking care of.

    Well done!!!

Got a black cock last year - he took a bit of a battering by the time we got him from the dogs so wasn't stuffing material but to be honest I don't think it would have looked anything like as impressive as yours. Maybe the two together would make a good pair !

    nice job ...

No use to you now but:

in future, if you shoot an unusual bird and the dog pulls the tail off - a competent taxidermist could reattach the tail to the mount with little difficulty .........as long as the bird itself wasn't damaged too badly or 'ragged'.

Just bring the bird & tail to a taxidemist and he/she wil tell you there & then if it's possible to mount it or not.

Thanks JR. Ya he was a beauty. It was only the tail. Looks the exact same os the one on show there!! Pity.... Sure u never know might get his brother next season.
