hotel online booking with booking.com and payment when you arrive

I booked a hotel for my holidays using booking.com and gave my mastercard prepaid details there.
Now, they only take about 10% of your booking value off your card 2 days before arrival. My question is - how can i pay for the rest of my stay at the hotel? Will they take money off my moneybookers prepaid card on the arrival? It says on that card that is for electronic use only so i presume it can't be used in POS.
So can I feel safe having only my Laser card/Cash/Sufficient funds on my prepaid mastercard with me? I've no "proper" CC.
Sorry if this was posted here before, i couldnt find the answer.

    Hello There,
I have used bookings.com many times and found them to be great, with a credit card booking the hotel usually only charges your card when you get your final bill when checking out, however last year i used a payzone prepaid card and found that they take the agreed amount out on the day i checked in ,rather than the last day, maybe it is to make sure thereis enough funds in the card to cover the hotel. hope this helps

Regular user of Booking.com, super service.

Anyway, the hotel won't care how you pay the balance, be it cash or another card (if they don't accept your pre-paid card, a lot of hotels won't) . Once they get their money, all is well.

"Electronic use only" does not mean online use only, no POS. Instead, it means that the card does not have embossed digits and cannot be used with those old-school machines that mechanically take an imprint of your card which is then mailed to your card issuer for processing.

Anywhere you stick the card into a reader, key in the PIN and press OK is "electronic use". Whether a hotel/restaurant/other business has its own rules regarding prepaid cards is another matter of course.
