I had an incident when i was 17 where i took a load of pills and ended up in hospital for a week, i know what the obvious answer is, i dont belong in the army if i have head trouble, but i was in a world of trouble, and was given false information about my health that lead me to believe i was ****ed anyway.
do the army do full med history tests? and could something like that be excused?
Also i ran two marathons, i do about 80 km a week, judo, and i only sleep 4-5 hours a night, grew up on a farm so well used to manual labour, so i would be in every way suited for army life
is it possable to get into the army with a head/med history?
because the ffl dont check your med history.

Well a lot of us have done stupid stuff growing up, and 17 can be a very messed up period of your life.

Look, and be honest do you still feel your head is messed up?. If the honest answer is YES then you probably shouldn't be in the army and around weapons & personnel.

Self harm/suicide is a major concern for a lot of serving soldiers and if its a concern for you as a civilian I'd say sort your mental health problems out first.

Otherwise you sound like a pretty decent, level headed guy.. Btw, we've a Judo team in the Defence Forces too.. We're open to white belts through to black and open to all branches of the Defence Forces, including the RDF.
